to everyone who submits an application.
BeYou is a hybrid program, meaning some
of the sessions are virtual and some
are in-person. In-person sessions take
place in Toronto.
Please note: in order to maintain a safe learning environment for participants and facilitators, cameras must be enabled throughout all sessions.
Participants will receive a $200 cash honorarium for completing all 5 sessions ($40 per session you attend).
Youth must also complete the Passion
Project in order to receive the honorarium
at the end of the program.
Participants will also have the opportunity to receive community service hours for time used to complete the Passion Project.
Applications will be accepted until:
11:59pm on April 23rd 2024
A "meet and greet" with the facilitators will
take place for a shortlist of applicants
between April 25th to May 2nd.
The "meet and greet” will be an informal chat to discuss the program and why you are interested in participating!
We all have unique relationships in our lives, but are they healthy ones? What are the key ingredients to healthy relationships and how do we navigate them in a digital world?
What is resilience? How can we recover from setbacks and forge ahead? Participants and facilitators will explore how to handle challenges and cope with difficulties.
Do self-esteem and body confidence go hand in hand? Participants and facilitators will explore positive and healthy affirmations, strategies to promote healthy self-esteem and the impact of social media.
Participants and facilitators will travel through the process of developing and sustaining a growth mindset. How can we embrace successes and mistakes to support future decision-making and problem solving?
The Passion Project for this cohort will be the creation of a mini newsletter. Participants will create one personal piece of work to share with their cohort peers and the larger youth community.
Using mediums of their choice (writing, drawing, photography, etc.), participants will contribute anything that they feel passionate about as it relates to their experiences with the program, what they learned, and what matters to them and their intersecting identities.
Samples from previous BeYou cohorts are available below to help participants get started on this Passion Project. Participants are encouraged to be as creative as they like with their piece of work!
Youth must complete the Passion Project to receive the honorarium.
