BeYou is a 5 session personal development program for female-identifying youth.
BeYou focuses on topics of: Resilience, Growth Mindsets, Healthy Relationships, Body Confidence and Self-Esteem.
Each cohort will also participate in
a “Passion Project”.
Participants are asked to attend all 5 sessions:
Saturday April 22nd @ 1:30-4:30pm (in-person)
Thursday April 27th @ 6-8:30pm (virtual)
Saturday May 6th @ 2-5pm (virtual)
Thursday May 11th @ 6-8:30pm (virtual)
Sunday May 14th @ 1-4pm (in-person)
BeYou is open to all youth who self-identify
as female, ages 16-24.
Registration is limited to 12 participants. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee a spot
to all those who submit an application.
BeYou is a hybrid program, meaning some
of the sessions are virtual and some
are in-person.
Please note: in order to maintain an appropriate learning environment for participants and facilitators, cameras must
be enabled throughout all sessions in order
to be eligible for the program.
Participants will receive a $200 cash honorarium for completing all 5 sessions ($40 per session you attend).
Youth must also complete the Passion
Project in order to receive the honorarium
at the end of the program.
Participants will also have the opportunity to receive community service hours for time used to complete the Passion Project.
Applications will be accepted until:
April 3rd 2023.
A "meet and greet" with the facilitators will occur for a shortlist of applicants between April 4th to 11th. The "meet and greet” will be an opportunity to discuss the program and
why you are interested in participating!
We all have unique relationships in our lives, but are they healthy ones? What are the key ingredients to healthy relationships and how do we navigate them in a digital world?
What is resilience? How can we recover from setbacks and forge ahead? Participants and facilitators will explore how to handle challenges and cope with difficulties.
Do self-esteem and body confidence go hand in hand? Participants and facilitators will explore positive and healthy affirmations, strategies to promote healthy self-esteem and the impact of social media.
Participants and facilitators will travel through the process of developing and sustaining a growth mindset. How can we embrace successes and mistakes to support future decision-making and problem solving?
The Passion Project for this cohort will be the creation of a mini newsletter. Participants will submit one personal piece of work to share with the cohort and youth community.
Using mediums of their choice (writing, drawing, photography, etc.), participants will contribute anything that they feel passionate about as it relates to their experiences with the program, what they learned, and what matters to them and their intersecting identities.
A template and list of topics will be developed to help participants get started on this Passion Project. Participants are encouraged to be as creative as they like with their piece of work!
Youth must complete the Passion Project to receive the honorarium.
