Design YRA's next holiday greeting card!

2022 has undoubtedly been a challenging year for many, and so we're looking to help spread joy as we wrap up the year through showcasing YOUR holiday greeting card design! Designs will be shared on YRA social media channels and through our monthly newsletter, with the winning design mailed directly to our community.  

How does it work?

Greeting card designs must incorporate the following theme: "Community". Designs must be created on postcard size (5" x 7"), and must be original creations (e.g. hand drawn, digitally drawn on a tablet, etc.). Captions of no more than 50 words should be included.

What are the prizes?

All submissions will be showcased on YRA's social media channels. The first place design will be printed and mailed to all YRA stakeholders, and will also receive a $200 cash prize. The runner up's design will be showcased on social media channels, and will receive a $100 cash prize.

Submissions must ensure they meet the criteria outlined below. Any submission that does not meet this criteria may not be considered. Designs must be original and will be featured on YRA platforms, with appropriate credit provided. Contestants have until December 31, 2022 to send in their submission.

Contest Instructions

Theme

The following theme must be incorporated in this year's design: 


Community (any aspect i.e. community connection; community support; community collaboration; community care, etc.).

Design Details

  • Youth designs must reflect the above theme, and must be original in nature. Designs must be original in nature (e.g. created by hand and scanned, or designed on a tablet, etc.). Designs that are not original will not be accepted. Any drawings that are scanned must be uploaded in the highest resolution possible with minimal empty space surrounding the image (scanned images will be printed directly as submitted). 


  • Designs must be submitted in a JPG/PNG format and only through the link provided. 


  • Designs cannot reflect any discriminatory or oppressive practices in any form. 

Caption Details

  • 50 word count max.


  • Contestants should provide a caption for their design that speaks to the meaning of their work. Participants are encouraged to be creative with their caption and are welcome to use varied writing styles.


  • Captions must not be discriminatory or oppressive. 

How your Submission will be Judged

  • All submissions will be judged by YRA's Board and staff team.


  • Designs and captions will be judged for: creativity and originality, overall presentation, and, relation to one or any of the themes. 

Prizes

1st: $200 cash

2nd: $100 cash
